And it’s June!

School children are soon to get out for summer, if they’re not out already.

The weather is getting warmer…or not.

People are thinking about sun-kissed vacations, on their last month of diets for bathing suit season, and preparing for the warmer and longer days ahead.

I’m looking forward to my break when I can sunbathe and write for hours and hours. My summer will be trips to San Diego, San Jose, and Colorado. I’ll be working hard but sleeping late and seeing friends and family — all the things that I love.

My your summer be filled with buttery ears of corn on the cob, S’mores roasted on a campfire when the chocolate is soft and the marshmallows are gooey and golden brown, and tall, frosted glasses of lemonade or iced tea — non-alcoholic or not. Laugh with friends.  Take a nap in a hammock with cool breezes offsetting the sun’s warmth, glinting through the verdant leaves of your own tree. On Independence Day, marvel to the lights in the sky, holding the hand of someone you love. Play beach volleyball or softball in the street. See a parade. Camp out in your backyard and watch the fireflies gather and hear the frogs croak, the loons mourn, or the songbirds sing.

Have fun.

I may see you out there.
